DISTRICT OF ELKFORD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR DISTRICT OF ELKFORD OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN BYLAW NO. 710, 2010, AMENDMENT BYLAW NO. 908, 2024 AND DISTRICT OF ELKFORD ZONING BYLAW NO. 737 2013, AMENDMENT BYLAW NO. 910, 2024
Pursuant to Section 466 of the Local Government Act R.S.B.C. 2015, Chapter 1, notice is hereby given that council for the District of Elkford has scheduled a public hearing to hear representations of all persons who believe that their interest in property is affected by proposed District of Elkford Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 710, 2010, Amendment Bylaw No. 908, 2024 and District of Elkford Zoning Bylaw No. 737 2013, Amendment Bylaw No. 910, 2024.

Applicable properties: | Properties within the District Core Mixed Use designation, properties in the C-1 zone, and properties in the P-1 zone, pursuant to the proposed Bylaw. |
General purpose:
Bylaw No. 908, 2024: to remove the policy in the District Core Residential area that limits the maximum number of storeys in the downtown core to three, and amending the Bylaw to limit the number of storeys to four. Bylaw No. 910, 2024: regulatory changes to streamline the development process, including: adding offices for co-working spaces and trade associations to the P-1 zone, adding personal and professional services to the P-1 zone as an accessory use, adding hospitals, medical and diagnostic centres to the C-1 zone, increasing the maximum height in the C-1 zone to 18 metres, removing the limit of one principal building per parcel—for specific properties only, pursuant to the Bylaw—in the C-1 zone. The proposed bylaw amendments may be inspected between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays), from January 3 to 13, 2025 at the District of Elkford Office, 744 Fording Drive, Elkford, B.C., or by request by emailing info@elkford.ca. |
Members of the public may attend the public hearing in person or online by emailing info@elkford.ca. If unable to attend the public hearing, persons may submit written comments to P.O. Box 340, Elkford, B.C., V0B 1H0, by email to info@elkford.ca or in person at the District Office at 744 Fording Drive, by no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 13, 2025. All submissions will form part of the record of the public hearing record.
