Ready to put on your parka, grab your hat and mittens and join us for a howling good time? This upcoming Family Day weekend, on February 17 to 19, Elkford is the place to be to celebrate Winter in the Wild!
Watch your mailbox for the official map + event guide, print a copy from our website or pick one up at the event itself:
Kick off the festivities on Friday night with free hot chocolate and s’mores around the bonfire at Elkford's Meeting Place (the gazebo between the District Office and Community Conference Centre), followed by our famous Winter in the Wild fireworks!
The rest of the weekend is jam-packed with winter fun for the whole family and features a pancake breakfast, snow sculpture contest, public skating, swimming, sno-pitch tournament, downhill armchair/couch races, art sale and auction fundraiser, dance for kids (for ages six and under), archery for all ages, snowmobile poker run/family day fun ride and family snowshoeing excursion.
Don't forget to warm up around the roaring bonfire, enjoy a few rips down the toboggan hill, peruse the selection of “ugly mugs” for sale (by minimum donation) and pre-register your kids in the snowshoe race!
Questions? Contact 250.865.4010, recreation@elkford.ca or visit the Community Conference Centre at 750 Fording Drive.
P.S. You can register your couch for the downhill armchair/couch race—or register your kids (between the ages of five and 12 years old) for the kids' snowshoe race—at 250.865.4010 or 750 Fording Drive.
